4/30/19 (Tuesday)

Today we met with a real estate agent to explore a couple representative houses to whet our appetites. The first house was a 10 acre horse farm. However, it was not to our liking because it was too close to a noisy road and the house was added onto in a way that made the septic system illegal. We passed on that one as it was not worth the listing price. The second house was quite nice and reasonably priced but didn't make us excited to purchase it. Waxhaw is still a beautiful area and is high on our relocation list.

We thanked the agent and told her we would contact her in the future should we decide too relocate to Waxhaw. We then drove to my ex-neighbor's house, Wayne, in Wake Forest which is near Raleigh. When we visited last summer, it was so hot it was barely tolerable. We were anxious to know if springtime weather would sway our thoughts.

We arrived at about 6 pm and had dinner at a dog-friendly Wakefield Tavern. After a meal and wonderful dark beer, we arrived at Wayne's house. He was teaching a bridge class until 10 p.m. so we made ourselves comfortable until he got home. We talked with him until after midnight and made plans to visit Atlantic Beach on the Outer Banks the following day. Wayne had a friend, also his bridge student, who had a 3000 square ft. condo on the beach. We were anxious to avail ourselves of this opportunity to visit the beach.
