Monday 4/29/19
We left Hickory, NC to head toward Waxhaw, NC an area that we are interested in exploring for possible relocation. We drove down Highway 16 and noted tremendous growth along the road that is being widened. Red dirt was being exposed everywhere. When we got to Waxhaw, again we noted tremendous growth with new housing developments of upscale houses and many new businesses along the highway. We took some time to explore the rural areas around Waxhaw, Indian Trail and Weddington. All of these areas show amazing growth potential and active building. It is clearly a growing suburb of Charlotte.
I contacted a real estate agent who had been sending me representative properties for consideration, and we planned to visit a couple representative properties on tomorrow (Tuesday.) We explored the surrounding areas to familiarize ourselves with the geographic areas until about 4 pm when we headed to a La Quinta Inn in Rock Hill, SC. The border between these two states is really close to Waxhaw.
The La Quinta in Rock Hill was brand new (open for three months) and was a pleasant place to stay for the evening. We were so tired, we drank some wine and went to bed early without eating dinner.
